Palace along the promenade
Le Palais de la Mediterranee is situated on the Promenade des Anglais, the beautiful beachfront at the center of everything in in Nice. Built in the 1930’s, the ornate and grand white facade has been restored to its Art Deco grandeur in a massive restoration in 2004.
The hotel, a landmark of style and elegance, has a commanding position on the Baie des Anges overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Convenient to all destinations on the Cote d’Azur and a gateway to the French Alps, the magnificent setting attracts international jetsetters, upscale families and luxury adventurers. Still possessing a casino, the air of the nightlife of the 30’s lingers in the halls of this place.
The third floor contains distractions of another sort — a beautifully designed indoor/outdoor pool, a gastronomic restaurant, fitness rooms, comfortable lounge and a sun terrace with spectacular views. The restaurant, Le Padouk, is a warm, wood-paneled temple of Mediterranean cuisine, with a to-die-for terrace opening up to a serene sea view.
Beyond the beautiful period public areas of the hotel are the glorious rooms which are strictly sleek and contemporary. Most of the 188 rooms have balconies and every modern amenity is included in the stylish and strictly 21th-century room decor.
