A haven for distinguished guests in the heart of the city.
The Gran Meliá Fénix is located on the Plaza de Colon amid soothing fountains and quiet walkways, yet it is only a stone’s throw from fashionable shopping districts and Spain’s world-class museum, the Prado. The hotel has undergone a complete renovation where the highest standards were met and exceeded. Upon entering, the guest will experience the grand atrium with domed ceiling and skylights. Frescos decorate the imposing space.
The 200 plus guest rooms and suites are exquisitely decorated with sumptuous fabrics, rugs and stunning art. Charm and elegance are the watchwords, but the latest technology is artfully combined with this elegance. Bang & Olufsen TVs and Sony CD stereo systems and complimentary high speed Internet connection are all available. Master panels control lights, temperature and music.
For the VIP client, the top two floors of the hotel are devoted to ‘Royal Service’, which features outstanding levels of service as exemplified by private check-in, and a Royal Service attendant who specialized in valet service, reservations and any spa appointments. The elegant Royal Service club room features an open bar throughout the day as well as a bountiful breakfast and hot hors d’oevres.

Luxury style: A grand hotel, fashionable shopping district, VIP accommodation
What we’ve heard: The beautiful tree-lined boulevard in the Salamanca district is equivalent to the Madison Avenue area of New York. Designer stores are right outside the hotel door. Also notable is the warm wood decor of the hotel‘s public spaces. A few noted that rooms need an update, however.
